I have been photographing Ronnie and her children since they were quite young. Now she is bringing her grandchildren. I find such delight in not only seeing families as they grow, but learning about what roads families travel and how their journey through time has affected them as human beings. Getting to photograph a new generation of a family is a remarkable gift. I am grateful.
Jannine and Julia, along with Grandma and Grandpa, came into the studio and we immediately went to the play area so Julia could take time to adjust to a new environment. Little by little, the serious face melted away and was replaced with a smile that lit up the room. As with most two year olds, keeping Julia engaged was the key to great photos. Up in the air, sitting on shoulders, hanging upside down, and spinning are often the best way to make photos that capture the joy and the relationship between family members. What shows in the photos is pure love. May we all be so blessed!

The Frankum Brothers came into the studio with traces of breakfast on their faces, fabulous cowlicks, inquisitive questions and playful spirits. We did individual photos first as they each shared stories with me about their lives and incorporated our imaginations into the plot. Laughing and being silly, we made the photo session fun to where they wanted to have photos with all three of them together. Once again, I am not sure who had a better time, the boys or me.

Leah and Tom came into the studio, late, as many new parents are, carrying a beautiful bundle. They were not used to the extra time it takes to get ready. We joked about that and I was pleased to see that although sleep deprived, they still have a great sense of humor. When Sienna was unwrapped, I was awed by her delicate, soft features. I can never get enough of holding new born babies with their tiny feet and long fingers. Leah and Tom had been given a gift certificate from Leah’s Mom, who had been in for photos several years ago, and thought it would be a wonderful gift for her new grandchild.
Professional photos which document growing up from the very beginning of life, are invaluable.

It’s that time of year for senior photos to be turned in to schools in order to get into the year book. Many of you are asking if I do senior photos.
The answer is YES, I do senior photos.
We encourage you to consider doing family photos at the same time you do senior photos. It is a significant time in your life when capturing the family together is a right of passage. If you are graduating from high school or from college, the family structure is changing. Please consider marking this mile stone with fine art photographs by Katy Tartakoff.
The photos can be in black and white or color.
Retouching is available for acne.
We can email the photograph directly to the year book.
Photographs may be purchased for a minimal fee for face book usage.
We do wallets.
Our convenient online gallery has a link that may be shared with anyone you wish.
Whether or not you are having photos of just yourself, the whole family, siblings or close friends, we look forward to being part of this important transition.
In grace and gratitude.
Katy, Reece and Marianne
