Karen & Zaiden

I met Karen and Zaiden when I was working on photos for the book we just published: CUP HALF FULL: LIFE IN THE FACE OF BREAST CANCER. It was Karen’s birthday and I invited her to come for new photos with her daughter, Zaiden. She spoke with Zaiden and she told Karen she did not want to be in photos. I suggested she come do some by herself and with her mom and to let Zaiden know she did not have to be in photos and if she changed her mind, she was welcome. Within five minutes of being in the studio, Zaiden hopped in and wanted to be in all the photos. We laughed and played and made some amazing photos. It was a great celebration of life, love and family. What an honor. I pray Karen has more birthdays to come.
